LESS SIZE. EASIER SHARING.

Make room for
what matters.

Large scans and image-heavy PDFs can get in the way of a simple upload. Try text-preserving optimization, or choose image-based compression when a smaller visual copy is what you need.

See the actual size difference. Keep the original if compression doesn’t help. No promises of a magic percentage.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things worth knowing.

What can I do with PDFOnlineS?

Combine multiple PDFs into one with Merge PDF, or try reducing one PDF’s file size with Compress PDF. Those are the two tools available here.

Are these PDF tools free?

Yes. Both tools are free to use without an account. Processing limits protect your browser from unusually large jobs; they are explained next to each tool.

Do my documents leave my device?

The tools read and process your selected PDFs in this browser tab. There is no document upload endpoint, and your PDF bytes are not sent to our server.

Will compression keep my text selectable?

Choose Preserve text to rewrite the PDF without converting its pages to images. Balanced and Strong rebuild pages as images, so selectable text, hyperlinks and interactive features are lost. You must confirm that tradeoff before using those modes.

Can I use PDFOnlineS on a phone?

Use a recent browser with support for JavaScript and local file selection. The file-order buttons work with touch. Large documents need more memory, so a desktop browser is usually a better choice for heavy jobs.

What if a PDF cannot be made smaller?

We compare the actual output bytes with the original. If the result is larger or unchanged, we say so and keep the original available. We never claim a saving that did not happen.

Your next PDF task, simplified.

Two useful tools. No account. Everything happens in your browser.

UNDERSTAND THE JOB

Two PDF tasks, with the right expectations

PDFOnlineS focuses on two common document jobs: combining finished PDF files into one record and reducing a PDF when a destination has a size limit. The tools show what they can do and describe the tradeoffs before you download anything.

When to merge PDFs

Use Merge PDF when the reader needs a complete package: a report with appendices, an application with evidence, or a set of invoices. The order you choose becomes the reading order in the new file.

When to compress a PDF

Use Compress PDF when a file is difficult to email, upload, or store. Start with text-preserving compression; choose image-based compression only when a visual copy is appropriate.

A quick check before you share

  • Choose the tool that matches the task, rather than changing a document unnecessarily.
  • Check the downloaded PDF before you share it.
  • Keep the original file when the output will be submitted or archived.
